Justin is an Ohio resident but secretly wants to escape to Europe (Ok maybe it isn’t that much of a secret). He graduated from Miami University in 2007 with a degree in History and a minor in film studies. From Miami he spent two years at Virginia Tech working towards a Masters degree in Higher Education, which he will finish one day. He currently spends his spare time reading, watching movies, playing video games and knitting. You heard right, knitting. It is relaxing ok. Anyway… he is the resident nerd of the site so don’t be surprised if his posts talk about Doctor Who, the paranormal and other nerdish stuff. Finally, Justin is the brains of this whole operation… just don’t let the others know.
Zoe has finally settled in her perfect town, Boulder, CO, with her husband after trying Chicagoland and San Francisco since her years at Miami University. Her degree is a Bachelors of Philosophy in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on intercultural relations–and yes, she did have to write a thesis to prove she learned something. She worked in hospitality and one day, really wants to be both a published fiction writer and the proud (co)owner of a bed and breakfast / hostel hybrid. She is clearly a big fan of things like movies, books and television; otherwise, why would you find her at Idle Banter & Escapades? She also loves reading, writing, yoga (sometimes), the sunshine in Boulder, and dancing. Instead of knitting, she’s currently very pregnant. And Justin may think he’s “the brains of this whole operation,” but everyone knows who’s really in charge here: the woman.
Matt was a late addition to the crew, as he is with most things in his life. Let’s just call it what it is, Matt’s slow. Living outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, Matt’s been to the ends of the earth and back and all he got was a stupid fiance (love you honey!). With degrees Music Education and Instructional Design and Technology, Matt works full-time at Miami University and is the owner of Mevins Consulting. As producer of Idle Banter & Escapades, he is constantly learning new things, like what movies are out and how behind the times he is in the world of video games. The only thing that Matt can say he actually brings to the group is his obsession with watching prime-time television, but not that crappy reality tv.
